Oh, hello, fall!
It's that time of year, again, where people flock to update their family photos. They pick out the perfectly coordinated outfits and head to the nearest local park. Then comes the fun part. Mom and Dad spend the next hour using every bribe under their sleeves to make their children behave. All they want is that ONE perfect photo of everyone smiling - is that too much to ask for?
Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that scenario. I'm just here to tell you that there is another option, another way! It's called a documentary style photography session! It's when I follow you and your family around during a typical activity and document all the fun you have! I capture authentic moments, laughs, smiles and bonds between family members.
In the photos below, I joined the Moss family on their trip to Warbington Farms. Every year they go to a local farm to pick out pumpkins and enjoy the fall festivities.
Oftentimes, when I mention documentary photography, people automatically assume that they won't get that family photo of everyone looking at the camera. Trust me, I always find a way to naturally fit those in. As much as I love and have a passion for documentary, I also understand the importance of posed photos as well. What I love about incorporating posed photos into documentary, is that it's typically much more attainable than forcing everyone to sit still for an hour. And don't worry, if you don't want posed that's also still an option!
Everyone has their own preferences but, for me, I always tend to lean more towards the completely unscripted photos as my favorites. Family photos don't have to be the same ole same ole. Allow me to document you and your family and provide photos that will show memories that speak for themselves.
